See the trailer for Maria Bamford's Netflix show, from the mind behind 'Arrested Development'

Maria Bamford Gets Help From Friends to Spread the Word on Her Series, Lady Dynamite

"Sometimes you have to lost your mind to find yourself." So says the trailer for Netflix's upcoming Lady Dynamite, a new series from creators Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development) and Pam Brady (South Park) starring comedian Maria Bamford.

The semi-autobiographical and periodically surreal series draws from Bamford's own struggles with bipolar disorder, making it as an actress and her standup career. Lady Dynamite also features Bridget Everett and Lennon Parham as Maria's friends, Andy Daly as her doctor, and Ed Begley, Jr. and Mary Kay Place as her parents.

The trailer includes guest appearances from Sarah Silverman, Jason Mantzoukas and Brandon Routh, with comedy stars like Tig Notaro, Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate and more on the way.

Season 1 of Lady Dynamite begins streaming on May 20.
