Megyn Kelly reveals why she cut her hair: 'I think I was just in a stronger mood'

For Megyn Kelly, actions definitely speak louder than words.

While it's evident the Fox News host has had an interesting election season amid her headline-making feud with Donald Trump, it clearly hasn't gotten to her.

The dramatic battle with the GOP presidential front-runner hit its peak back in January when he skipped a Republican debate she was moderating.

How did Kelly handle it? With grace -- and a new look.

The lawyer-turned-journalist made head turns as soon as she walked into the Jan. 28 Iowa debate with her stunning, and very short, blonde locks.

Kelly, who is a part of PEOPLE's 2016 Most Beautiful special issue, revealed to the magazine the reason for the "big chop."

"We change when we get in a different phrase. I think I was just in a stronger mood," she said.

The 45-year-old mother of three also admitted that her drastic decision didn't come easy. "I think hair is sort of emotional for all women," she said.

And as far as her feud with the billionaire businessman goes, a recent meeting between the two hints at a possible reconciliation.

"The Kelly File" host said they met privately for an hour and "had a chance to clear the air."
