From dramatic firework displays to temporary hair dye, couples have been resorting to extreme measures as of late to reveal the sex of their unborn children.

So when these Rhode Island parents decided to reveal the gender of their third child to their daughters with cupcake frosting, one would think it would evoke a much calmer reaction, right?

Not so much.

Heidi Guerard and her husband Shaun videotaped their two girls, Grace and Giuliana, opening their cupcakes. Blue frosting would mean they were getting a little brother, while pink would mean a third sister was on the way.

6-year-old Giuliana opens her cupcake first, ecstatic to find out it's a boy. Grace, on the other hand, does not share the same exuberance, as she stares at the treat, shakes her head and refuses to crack hers open to learn her fate.

"Are you excited it's a boy, Grace?" Guerard asks his daughter. "I'm not," she says, licking the icing.

But it's not until she breaks hers open and sees that hers too has blue icing that she has a complete and utter breakdown. "OH NO, I wanted pink!" she says as she sobs uncontrollably.

Luckily, those feelings didn't stick.

In an interview with TODAY.com, Guerard reassured that everything is a-okay now, saying, "(The girls) are so sweet with him and love having a baby in the house. Grace smothers him with hugs and kisses."
