Earth Day is this Friday, April 22, and while it would be great for us to go out and pick up litter on the side of the highway or pull weeds somewhere, the chances of that actually happening are slim, if we're being honest with ourselves.

Fear not, however! You can still honor the planet without completely going out of your way, thanks to nature-loving brands like Origins, which produces natural products with earth-friendly ingredients and recycled packaging materials.

Not only is the Origins brand super eco-friendly in their everyday practices, but for Earth Month they've launched a new social media campaign called #KissThePlanet. For every nature-themed Instagram post tagging @OriginsUSA and including the hashtags #KissThePlanet and #DoGoodCampaign, Origins will plant a tree!

Origins ambassador and Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling was the first to share her post on Instagram Tuesday morning, and since then hundreds of other users have shared their own.

Lucky for us, we got to chat with the OINTB actress herself to learn more about the campaign! Read our Q&A with Schilling below.

What made you want to join Origins in their Earth Day efforts?

My beauty routine is very simple and products that are simple and equally as kind to the earth as they are to my skin is very important to me, and Origins prioritizes that as well. For me, it seemed like a sort of natural fit. This beautiful campaign they're doing for Earth Day with #KissthePlanet, each time the hashtag gets used they're going to plant a tree. All of those elements combined are what drew me to this.

Do you have any Origins products you're particularly fond of?

They make their salt scrub, which I recently learned was sort of the original salt scrub, and it's something I've been using for a long time and it smells so yummy to me. I'm also very excited about this new line that they have from Dr. Andrew Weil, that really utilizes natural products and is kind of developed around protecting your skin from environmental factors, and I spend a lot of time outside when I'm not working. That's really my go-to escape, like a hike or a walk as much as I can. For me, its incredibly important to take care of my skin so that when I go to work the makeup artists are happy with me.

What is your daily makeup routine like?

A really good cleanser is important to me because I do spend a lot of time with makeup on my face for my job, and I think I learned the hard way that if I don't clean my skin very, very well it doesn't respond kindly, it sort of revolts. So cleanser and sunscreen are kind of my go-tos, and I make sure I have a great moisturizer, too.

If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Gosh, that's a really good question. I need some time to choose some sort of oil. Moisturizing and protective and probably very natural, there would be no chemicals in it. Probably something like that.
