Lele Pons Discusses Discovering Vine For The First Time

In just a few short years, Lele Pons has managed to take her Vine videos from a fun hobby to a lucrative business. Her 6 second videos quickly amassed over 8 billion loops and grown her fanbase which started at humble beginnings to a whopping 10 million followers. Her career growth has been nothing short of meteoric. And with her newest book "Surviving High School" out now and her prospective career as an film actress, Pons isn't slowing down at all.

But there's one thing that's always centering Pons no matter how famous she gets: her family and friends. The 19-year-old Vine star makes it clear that without them, she would not be as grounded or as humble as she is now. As she mentions, she hopes that other up-and-coming social stars will follow suit and "Really value the people who where there from the beginning..."

It's an incredible outlook on life that -- famous or not -- we should all be swearing by. What is one piece of advice you wish you advice you wish you received before you became big on Vine?
I feel like I started at the right time. But I wish that I knew how to edit better in the beginning. I felt like a lot of Vines in the beginning could have been a lot better had I known about editing a bit better.

It's interesting too because you can kind of relive your learning process with Vine.
I also can see the progress that I've had throughout the years since it was all me creating these pieces. So I can see how I've developed in a lot of aspects

Do you ever go back to the old Vines you used to make?
Yeah! But really just to have a good laugh with my friends. I was just having fun. Right now they all look so professional but before it was just me and my friends making fun of each other and having fun.

Where do you see your career going in the next few years?
More into movies and I like YouTube and I still want to do social media, but I also want to go through the more traditional entertainment world.

Who would you dream collaboration be with?
You say dream, so I'm going to go big. Leonardo DiCaprio I just love him so much, I just want to save him in the next Titanic or something. I want to do dramatic acting or action role like a Lara Croft.

What's the biggest thing you've learned about yourself since becoming famous?
What I've learned is to always have always come back to where you begin because that's the only way you can stay grounded in the industry that i'm in. Really value the people who were there from the beginning because a lot of days these days people don't have those people by their side anymore.
