Parents will often sacrifice anything for their children, and in a recent tragic incident in Jacksonville, Florida, that drive cost a man his life, reports WSB.

On Saturday, William Moritz, a 28-year-old man from Michigan, was at a beach with his 6-year-old daughter when she was pulled in by a tide.

He dove in and was able to get the child to safety, but struggled himself.

While the young girl survived, Moritz did not, reports WJAX.

Moritz was in the area to attend his father's memorial service, but due to the tragedy that service was not held.

Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover both funeral arrangements for the young dad and provide for his daughter.
