I lose my phone charger, oh, probably once a week.

It's a pretty minor problem, but an irritation nonetheless. Even though I try to leave it in the same place, I always find that cords and cables magically move as soon as I turn my back. (My other working theory is that other members of my household can't find their own charger.)

Of course, like most people, I come up against dozens of similar small, but annoying, problems every day, which is why I'm always looking for simple DIY solutions to make my whole life run just a tiny bit more smoothly.

Up until recently, my favorite all-purpose household "fixer" was the binder clip — just check out this useful video to see why! — but now I'm starting to think that there just might be a new contender.

These days, I'm all about the humble toilet paper roll. For years, I'd pull off the last sheet and toss the little cardboard tube straight into the recycling. Now, I know what I've been missing out on!

These simple tubes can be used for everything, from sorting cords and cables to organizing the junk drawer. For a more decorative look, you can even doll them up with stickers and fancy tape.

Check out a few of our favorite cardboard tube hacks in the video below, and don't forget to SHARE and let your friends in on this organizational secret!
