Dora the Explorer Actress Suspended From School For Vaping

Looks like even Dora the Explorer is just as chill with a vape pen as Mr. Vaping Senator, Duncan Hunter.

Fifteen-year-old Fatima Ptacek, who voices Dora, was suspended for three days after using her vapor pen at her private school in December 2015, reports the AP.

But turns out a little cartoon star power might go a long way; while Ptacek only had a few days' punishment, her peer was forced out of the private school, Manhattan's Avenues: The World School after she was caught for the same act. The student's parents took the case to a state Supreme Court, saying Ptacek's celeb status might be the reason for her free pass.

In their lawsuit, the parents are asking for their daughter to be reinstated in school, as well as $40,000 in damages. The lawsuit identifis the two girls only by their initials:

"The fact that F.P. is a known actress for being the voice of Dora Explorer may have played a role in why she was ultimately not expelled even after the school threatened as much, and M.S. was expelled instead as a scapegoat."

Dora's the cool high school girl, but of course, but this title doesn't come without extra baggage. "Backpack, backpack. I'm the backpack loaded up with [palpable parental tension]."
