Trump aide retweets endorsement from fake congressman

Donald Trump aide Michael Cohen wanted to let his followers know about a recent endorsement for the GOP front-runner from Republican Rep. Steven Smith of Georgia's 15th Congressional District.

The only problem -- it's a fake account. Georgia only has 14 Congressional Districts, and the account was apparently created years ago as a parody of Tea Party politicians, reports The Wrap.

Georgia-based newspaper Ledger-Enquirer reported on the Twitter profile in 2013, even noticing the profile picture was from the Men's Big & Tall website.

Even with the previous reports, the Trump Organization Executive Vice President retweeted the endorsement Sunday night, and as of Monday afternoon, the retweet had yet to be taken down.

The social media site has played a huge role in the presidential race thus far, acting as a way for candidates to share updates and even take jabs at each other.
