Next weekend marks the long-awaited fourth annualTortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! Yes, it's festival season -- there are countless awesome music and art events happening all over the globe that would probably deliver you the times of your lives. So what exactly, you ask, is so special about Tortuga? We're here to tell you.
Not only does Tortuga focus on country music, with headliners including country superstars Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw, setting it apart from other festivals, but the 3-day extravaganza is also here for a good cause. Sponsored by Rock the Ocean, a nonprofit dedicated to raise awareness about the importance of ocean conservation, participants (and anyone who feels so compelled) are encouraged to donate to help make the world a better, safer and cleaner place for all of its inhabitants. In fact, a portion of all ticket profits are donated to Rock the Ocean -- Tortuga fans have already helped to send hundreds of thousands of dollars to ocean research and conservation.
Check out some of the awesome we've seen at past Tortuga festivals:
The festival will take place from April 15-18 in Fort Lauderdale -- it's not too late to buy your ticket! That being said, you might want to get on that ASAP, considering that some of the first passes that became available sold out in only 45 minutes. Last year, approximately 75,000 people took part in the awesome, good-vibes event (which nearly doubled the previous year's estimated 44,000 guests) -- and it's safe to say that at least that many will be sharing the country music joy and Florida sunshine next weekend.
Can't be there in person? No worries -- follow AOL.com on the epic social app Kanvas, where we will be sharing some of the best highlights from what's certainly to be an unbelievable experience!
Patrons can expect to see Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Michael Franti, Lynrd Skynrd, Elle King, and many, many more country icons at the festival, ensuring even more that Tortuga 2016 is going to be the most unforgettable one yet.
The Tortuga Music Festival took place next to the picturesque B Ocean Hotel & Resort in Fort Lauderdale. For more information about the hotel, click here.
