Christian Louboutin is Nude for All Shades!

Christian Louboutin, the brand famous for its iconic and timeless red soled shoes, introduced two new shades to its Nude Collection on Tuesday, bringing their total of skin-tone color options to seven.

With the two additional hues added just in time for spring and summer -- "porcelain Nude #1" and "deep chocolate Nude #7" -- the brand now boasts "skin-friendly hues" for every woman.

A statement from the company reads:

Longer legs? Yes, please!

In response to popular demand from women around the world, Christian Louboutin is pleased to announce an extension of the brand's innovative Nudes collection. Originally launched in 2013 with five shades of nude and four styles, the Spring/Summer 2016 collection sees the spectrum extended with two new skin-friendly hues, the porcelain Nude #1 and deep chocolate Nude #7, bringing the current range of colours available to seven. The expansive collection ensures that every woman can find a nude perfectly suited to her complexion.

By expanding their definition of "nude" to include women of color, Louboutin has done so much more than simply ensure that every woman can find a shoe to match their complexion.

Designers have been known to regard "nude" as a synonym for light tan, which excludes a huge portion of the world's population.

This move is not only a smart business strategy (nude footwear is highly sought after, as the perfect skin-colored pump can make a wearer's legs look incredibly long and lean), but also a statement that women of all colors are valued equally within the fashion industry.

A socially conscious and progressive brand that also happens to make some of the most beautiful and coveted products on the market? We're sold.
