The truth about sugar is even worse than we thought

The truth about sugar is even worse than we thought

Think twice before you chow down on those doughnuts and cake! A new online tool has been created to track the effects of sugar, and it isn't too sweet on your body.

Too much of it can do some real damage for men, women, and children. For men, some of the trouble can happen below the belt. Guys with diabetes are also more likely to experience erectile dysfunction, and too much sugar can cause lethargy, which also diminishes sex drive.

For women, too much sugar in their blood can attach to collagen and make it brittle, which makes it harder for the skin to repair itself. That means - you guessed it - more wrinkles! Also, high levels of sugar can also lead to yeast infections.

And for the kids, it may be time to get rid of those candy bars! Excessive sugar weakens their immune system, making it harder for them to fight off those germs on the playground. And, since sugar is pretty much empty calories, too much could leave kids malnourished and lacking the vitamins they need for strong bones. Even though that candy looks great on the outside, think twice about what it's doing to your insides!

Want to find out what's happening to your body when you overindulge? Check it out on Benenden, the online tool used in the video above!
