Just as soon as the weather started heating up this spring, it didn't take long for a goat in Norfolk, Va., to take advantage and make a dash for it.

A picture posted Monday to the Norfolk police department's Facebook page -- which has since gone viral with more than 500 shares -- reports that the goat was chased on foot by animal control officers and eventually caught.

The incident all started Thursday when a couple picking up a child from school saw a goat wandering the area and reported it to police.

The two animal control officers -- identified by local reports as Adam Blankenship and Nicholas Calnan -- will not file charges against the four-legged creature.

And with a smile like this ... who could resist?!

The owner of the goat was unaware the goat couldn't be kept in the city and was taken to the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center and has since found a home elsewhere.

Godspeed little goat!
