TNT's 'Animal Kingdom' to debut in June with Ellen Barkin

Updated

Ellen Barkin is coming to TNT by early summer.

The network announced Thursdat that the series — starring Barkin ("The New Normal"), Scott Speedman ("Felicity") and Shawn Hatosy (Southland) — will premiere on June 7.

The show is definitely making headlines already -- mostly for all the shirtless men in the trailer. "Animal Kingdom" is set around 17-year-old Joshua "J" Cody, who moves to Southern California to live with his reckless, non-law-abiding family after his mother passes away from a heroin overdose.

If that synopsis doesn't give you a glimpse of the debauchery that's in store for this series -- we don't know what will.

The show is executive-produced by John Wells and Jonathan Lisco and was based loosely upon the feature film of the same name.
