Sun reflecting off mirrored headboard sets carport ablaze in Fresno

The time for spring cleaning is upon us, but for one family in Fresno the seasonal spiff-up did not go as planned.

Roughly 25 firefighters from the Fresno Fire Department responded to the call and were able to put out the fire in about 5 minutes.

However, by that time the parking structure had been burned down to its skeleton and the car inside was destroyed.

Damages are estimated to be around $15,000.

Fire personnel assessed the scene and while there was no absolute evidence the headboard was the culprit, it was declared the likely cause.

On an up note, no one was injured, and the fire did not spread to the house.
