Pope Francis begins his Instagram journey
Pope Francis made his Instagram debut Saturday, and there wasn't a #brunch, #sunset or #selfie in sight.
"Pray for me," read the post, with the phrase in nine languages.
Instagram founder CEO Kevin Systrom was apparently there to witness the post.

The pope announced the posting on his Twitter account, explaining the purpose behind it.
I am beginning a new journey, on Instagram, to walk with you along the path of mercy and the tenderness of God.

The Instagram team met with the pope in Feburary and showed him a bound book featuring 10 historic moments, like the Nepalese earthquake and the surge of Middle Eastern migrants into Europe, that were documented in images.
This is the pope's second social media presence after his Twitter account, which has 8.9 million followers.
Hopefully the pope takes his own advice on Instagram. He has warned against chasing after too many likes on social media.
