Meet Frances Valentine, the (super sophisticated) new girl on the block

Updated

There's a new power player in the fashion industry, and our guess it that it's going to take the world by storm. Enter Frances Valentine. She's intelligent, fashionable and super classy. She knows how to throw a party and she's always on the go, and, she's the brainchild of Kate Valentine, the designer formerly known as Kate Spade.

Since saying goodbye to the Kate Spade chapter of her life nearly a decade ago, Kate Valentine took time to focus on her family and has now teamed up with husband Andy Spade, Elyce Arons (who cofounded the Kate Spade brand with Kate and Andy in 1993) and Paola Venturi, who came to them from Prada (but also spent time at Kate Spade the brand as design director).

The Frances Valentine collection of shoes and handbags has a preppy feel similar to the Kate Spade brand, but takes on an entirely new personality infused with the darker, more high fashion feel of Prada, which comes as no surprise thanks to Venturi's design influence.

The fall 2016 collection features furry handbags, cowhide cap toes, plaid backpacks, metallic flared heels, snakeskin cap toe over the knee boots and a signature geometric heel on ankle boots (which you can also see in the spring 2016 collection of sandals on the Frances Valentine website) reminiscent of an octagonal oversized cocktail ring.

The new brand is nothing short of glamorous, but it has a surprisingly wearable feel. We're looking forward to shopping the fall collection in a few short months, but in the meantime, check out a few of our favorite pieces from the Frances Valentine spring line in the gallery above!
