The 'American Idol' judges didn't know what to expect when she took on this Whitney Houston hit
Sonika Vaid had another great week on "American Idol."
The 20-year-old sang Whitney Houston's hit, "I Have Nothing," a song that has been performed several times on the "American Idol" stage.
When she finished, the judges looked pleased but Vaid clearly felt the emotion of the song. Harry Connick Jr. reminded her to take a deep breath and went on with his notes about her performance.
"I think of that song as one of those high-risk, high-reward performances because it is so well known and it's obviously an iconic performance by Whitney," he said. "For me, I loved it."
Keith Urban agreed. "It's a phenomenal song and your voice is gorgeous," he said.
"That's probably my favorite Whitney Houston song and it's such a hard song to sing and I think you did a good job with it," Jennifer Lopez agreed, adding, "we have a hard decision to make right now."
