Woman hits attacker with special pink pepper spray
LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Police are on the lookout for a man whose face might be covered in pink spray.
The man is wanted in an alleged sexual assault case that happened over the weekend. According to the Lakewood Police Department, he attacked a woman near the entrance to Red Rocks Community College.
"He dragged her off the side of the road [and down a hill into a grassy area]," Lakewood police Sgt. Randy McNitt said.
The victim fought back and shot pepper spray into the man's face. What's unique about the pepper spray is that it was pink.
Police said the spray had breast cancer awareness packaging. The woman also told investigators she might have scratched the suspect's face.
"We're real interested in anyone who would have any information about having seen a person, friend, acquaintance with something like that on them," McNitt said.
The pink pepper spray should stay on the suspect's face and clothing for a little while. After the man was sprayed, he ran off. The victim ran off too and alerted police.
The man is described as white in his 20s or early 30s, 6-foot to 6-foot1 with possibly short blond hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lakewood police at 303-987-7111.
