EXCLUSIVE: Mario Lopez reveals his mantra, key to happiness in LaPalme Magazine

Updated

Hello, Mr. Hollywood!

Mario Lopez recently opened up for the cover story of LaPalme Magazine's spring 2016 issue, and the 42-year-old TV host looks better than ever clad in collection of sleek, trendy outfits in the mag's glossy photo shoot atop the Emerson LA in -- where else? -- downtown Hollywood.

The star, who rose to fame on the hit '90s show "Saved by the Bell," and subsequently became one of TV's most recognizable faces, dished on his high-profile career and the "mantra" that helped get him to where he is today.

"Work hard, stay focused and do the right thing and usually the right thing happens – that's been my mantra," he said.

Behind-the-scenes of the LaPalme photo shoot:

In Lopez's eyes, "doing the right thing" is all about family. The actor and TV host has been married to Broadway dancer Courtney Mazza since 2012 and share daughter Gia, 5, and son Dominic, 3.

"My family is my top priority and I work hard for them. I have an understanding wife. We're fortunate in what we have," he said.

"I feel the man is more of a backdrop to the woman," he added.

With all the glitz and the glam of Hollywood and his effortless interviews with high-profile people like President Obama and Tom Cruise, some may be surprised to learn that Lopez isn't always "on" and likes to escape from the chaos.

"I'm happiest at home with my family and friends listening to music, eating, playing bocce, or hanging out in the pool with a good margarita in my hand."

That's definitely something we can get behind!

LaPalme Magazine's Spring 2016 issue hits stands at Barnes & Noble on March 18.
