Firefighter braves icy pond to save dog

A daring rescue has been caught on camera. One brave firefighter recently rescued a frightened pup from an icy pond and reunited the beloved pet with his family.

After jumping a fence, Zeus fell into a pond filled with ice. Although the dog was able to hold on to the edge by two paws, the freezing temperatures threatened his life.

His owners immediately called 911 and firefighters soon came to Zeus' rescue.

The dog was clearly shaken from his fall and can be heard whimpering in the cell phone footage of the rescue.

"Ok, he's growling at me," the fireman said before braving the freezing cold to save Zeus' life. Although Zeus was scared, his owners reassured him that everything would be ok. And they were right! The firefighter was able to push Zeus out of the pond and get him to safety.

Thanks to the actions of the courageous firefighter Zeus is now safe, warm, and back with his family.
