Border Collie Works Full Time Keeping Airport Runways Clear for Planes

There are few dogs out there that can say they have a full-time job. One of the few K-9's putting in 40-hour work weeks is Piper, a Border Collie that has gained a lot of attention this week for his role at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan.

The 7-year-old serves as the Wildlife Control Specialist at the airport, making sure that the runways are free of wild animals, thus, clear for landings.

His Instagram account, which has spiked to 13K followers this week, is chock-full of photos and videos showing him roaming around the airport sporting his safety goggles with bandana.

According to the airport's website, "he is the only Wildlife Control K-9 on staff at an airport in Michigan and, we believe, one of less than ten in the United States."
