Man Slashed by Fellow Rider on NYC Subway

MANHATTAN (WPIX) — A 60-year-old man was slashed by a fellow subway rider after the pair bumped into each other during the Friday morning commute, police said.

It happened about 8:15 a.m. on a train riding along the northbound NQR line, police said.

The victim and attacker bumped into each other and the pair began to argue, then the culprit pulled out a sharp object and slashed the victim across his chin and hand, police said.

The attacker ran from the station. Police said a description of him was not immediately available.

The victim exited the train at the 63rd Street stop and told police. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It's the latest in a string of slashings in the city — both above and underground.
