Dog comforts autistic boy in hospital bed
James Isaac, a nine-year-old from New Zealand, suffers from a severe form of the condition and, as such, is unable to speak and prefers not to make contact with others.
So about two years ago, the family got their assistance dog Mahe who keeps the boy calm when they're in public.
This includes a hospital visit on February 9th when Mahe rarely left his side.
The dog was even allowed to get into the bed with James before the boy was put under anesthesia; photos of the two lying together have been shared worldwide.
Overall, the child's mother Michelle credits the dog for not only helping her son but also changing their lives.
