Take a look back at the 2006 Oscars red carpet

Updated

The 2006 Academy Awards were perhaps most noteworthy for the fact that "Crash" won the Oscar that year for Best Picture. The film beat out "Brokeback Mountain" and "Capote," which many in the film world still consider to be one of the most undeserving wins in history.

There are other things worth looking back on at the 2006 Oscars than the Best Picture race, though. It's impossible not to mention Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger walking the red carpet together and looking incredible. Jennifer Lopez stunned in a jungle green getup, looking the same as she does in 2016. "Empire" stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrance Howard both looked youthful on the red carpet, appearing to support "Hustle & Flow" together.

2006 was also totally different fashion-wise: It was all about big, colorful and satin on the Academy Awards red carpet ten years ago. Check out all of the stars' looks in the gallery above.
