Cate Blanchett sparkles at the Costume Designers Guild Awards
If Cate Blanchett isn't one of your style (and beauty!) icons, we'd be genuinely surprised. We're grateful that she continually chooses roles that generate Oscar buzz -- and that she has the talent she has -- because that means we're constantly blessed with seeing her on the red carpet.
Last night she was honored with the Costume Designers Guild Award's top honor, the Lacoste Spotlight Award, which " honors an actor whose talent and career personify an enduring commitment to excellence, including a special awareness of the role and importance of costume design." Starring in movies like Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Blue Jasmine and the Lord of the Rings, we can't think of a better person to win. She dazzled on the red carpet for the event in a black Versace Couture gown.
Also in attendance at the awards was one of our other favorite style stars -- Kiernan Shipka. The 16-year-old fashionista looked pretty as can be in a powder blue Alexander McQueen gown.
