Adam Levine's huge new back tattoo took six months to finish

Adam Levine continues to add to his gigantic tattoo collection.

The "Voice" coach took to Instagram late on Monday night to reveal a massive new back tattoo that allegedly took six months to finish.

The ink, which features a giant gothic mermaid holding a skull and surrounded by a mythical crest of ocean and birds, is clearly still fresh as the Maroon 5 frontman's skin is still red from the application.

"6 months in the making," the singer captioned the photo. "Thanks @bryanrandolph for absolutely blowing my mind with this one! Woooo hooooo!!!!"

Nothing gets a rockstar as jazzed as getting a new tattoo, right?!

Here's to hoping that Levine uses his new ink as an excuse to take off his shirt at some point on the upcoming season of "The Voice."
