Kaitlyn Cowell just became a Deputy Sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department but she had no idea that she would get engaged on the same day.

Andrew's dad, who is a commander in the sheriff's department, was thrilled to continue the tradition of family members working in law enforcement.

"[It's] just a beautiful day," he said a video posted by the department on Facebook. "We're truly a family and today is a perfect example of why we're a family. So, I could not be more proud and happy."
The couple, who've been together three years, believe working in the same field will help their marriage.
"I graduated today and I got proposed to and I had no idea," Cowell said the video.
