Today might be the happiest Monday of all Mondays because it's National Margarita Day!! It's no secret that tequila is a household favorite here, after all I live with a guy who perfected his margarita years ago, who likely drinks at least one margarita a week. Which is why the other day, when he exclaimed that he just made the best margarita he's ever made, I knew I had to share it with you guys! And #PerfectMargarita is an understatement, 'cuz damn is it good.


  • 2 oz. Patrón Silver Tequila
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. agave (or more to taste)
  • 1 jalapeño slice (plus 1 more for garnish)
  • Ice (to shake with and serve with)
  • Shaker
  • Fine mesh strainer
  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill.
  2. Double strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice by pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer.
  3. Garnish with a jalapeño slice (seeds removed)
  4. Serve and enjoy!
