Authorities believe she committed suicide. According to the woman's sister, the family found a suicide letter written by Lauren, and a syringe was found in the vehicle.
The coroner has not announced an official cause of the death.
As to why it took so long for her body to be recovered, investigators note the view to the car's interior was compromised due to a combination of darkened windows and a sunshade.
