'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie asks Penelope Cruz cringeworthy question about her feet

Talk about putting your foot in your mouth!

"Today" show host Savannah Guthrie was caught in an embarrassing situation on Thursday during an interview with Penelope Cruz when she asked her about her "ugly feet." It all started out with friendly banter about the 41-year-old actresses upcoming film "Zoolander" and then Guthrie dove into remarks Cruz supposedly made about her looks.

"I think you said it, despite what you look like, you have ugly feet," Guthrie remarked to her guest.

"No, no, no, no," Cruz -- who looked visibly confused -- replied. "I haven't said that. I'm OK. I'm OK with my feet."

"OK, good!" Guthrie exchanged. "Because you were a dancer."

"Yeah, because, you know, when you're a ballet dancer, you lose your toenails," Cruz continued. "You get used to throwing them away. You don't even feel them anymore. I'm OK."
