Kevin Durant gets emotional over Ingrid Williams' death (Video)
On Wednesday, sad news came out of the NBA about the passing of Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams' wife, Ingrid. Ingrid Williams died late Tuesday night, when she was hit head-on by another car that had jumped the center lane.
The Williams have five children and Ingrid was beloved by legions in the NBA family. When Monty Williams was the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, Ingrid was always there to be supportive for the players in times of need. When the news broke on Wednesday, the entire league began showing their support.
On Thursday, Thunder forward Kevin Durant was speaking to the media about Ingrid and became real emotional during the interview. Durant tried his best to say some words about the situation, but it became too much for him to handle and he had to leave.
It is very clear just what Ingrid meant to the team and how much the team loved her. Monty has always been one of the most respected coaches in the league and for him to suffer such a tragic loss, it's really affected the men around him and everyone in the Thunder organization. The Thunder are a tight-knit group, and this loss has clearly impacted both them and the league.
