Big Ang, breakout star of Mob Wives and Staten Island's most charismatic barkeep, has been diagnosed with stage-four cancer. Her family has revealed that Big Ang (whose real name is Angela Raiola) is battling stage-four lung and brain cancer, and was informed at the end of January that recent chemotherapy treatments have been unsuccessful. Raiola's sister, Janine Detore, created a GoFundMe page this week to raise money for alternative treatment, specifically cannabis oil, for the 55-year-old reality star. As Detore explains, "the amount of pain she is having is by far more than she could handle," adding that "Angela cannot function to work anymore," and recently had to go the emergency room. Big Ang was diagnosed with a "lemon-sized" tumor in her throat last March — after which she said she quit smoking cold turkey — and underwent surgery in June. As of Thursday, the page has exceeded its $25,000 goal and raised more than $31,000.
