Ariel Winter Defends Showing Breast Reduction Surgery Scars

"Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars!" Winter, who turned 18 last Thursday, tweeted about her gorgeous SAG Awards look. "They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all. :)"

"Thank you all so much for the support, kind words, and happy birthdays! <3" she added.

Winter went from a 32F bra size to a 34D as a result of her surgery, which has alleviated some of the back problems she had because of her large bust size. When ET caught up with her last October, she also admitted she became uncomfortable with the attention her figure had been receiving prior to her procedure.

WORST: Susan Sarandon was all cleavage in a white suit with nothing but a black bra underneath -- and we can't say the risk paid off. Plus, the actress's cropped pants looked more like a mistake than a stylish choice.

BEST: Kristen Wiig nailed the pantsuit-inspired look in a chic one-shouldered jumpsuit with a honeycomb-like appliqué on the bodice. Strappy metallic sandals and a matching clutch completed her fab ensemble.

WORST: We hate to say it, but Brie Larson's Versace gown was a bit of a mess -- The rope-like ties were super chic, but not when paired with the gown's twisted, ruched neckline and straps.

BEST: "Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland stunned in a gorgeous purple strapless gown with a lace bodice and thigh-high slit. A tousled bob and fun accessories completed her stunning look.

WORST: Christina Hendricks is a total bombshell, but she looked a bit washed out and overpowered in this voluminous, pale brocade gown.

BEST: "Modern Family" actress Kiernan Shipka is all grown up! The gorgeous young starlet wowed in a gorgeous purple gown with a silver floral pattern and bustier top. Simple hair and makeup kept the look young and fresh.

WORST: We are not digging Julianne Moore's radioactive green sequins, and the gown's silhouette isn't doing her any favors, either.

BEST: Wowzas! Marisa Tomei did green sequins right in this breathtaking, rich-looking sequined gown with a plunging neckline and thin accent belt.

WORST: Priyanka Chopra looked like a prom queen in a pink and white floral mermaid gown with a tulle skirt that really teetered on tackiness.

BEST: She's pretty in pink! Actress Emilia Clarke stunned in a gorgeous pink gown with an elegant, plunging neckline. Natural hair and makeup completed her head-turning look.

WORST: Covering up doesn't have to mean looking frumpy. Actress Mayim Bialik donned a black gown with sheer blouson sleeves and traditional lace trim that left much to be desired.

BEST: Rachel McAdams was the epitome of class in a gorgeous black and nude embroidered gown ... Absolutely flawless!

WORST: While Keith Urban looked chic and sophisticated, Kidman looked like a gypsy Barbie in a pink and purple striped, ruffled gown and gaudy layered necklaces.

BEST: Actress Laura Prepon was breathtaking in an ethereal off-white gown with a unique, semi-sheer beaded bodice and a skirt of cascading organza.

WORST: Actress Lori Petty definitely stood out from the crowd in a powder pink, strappy, straightjacket-like getup for all the wrong reasons.

BEST: Alicia Vikander is the perfect example of a risk that paid off in a unique, patchwork-esque sequined gown. A sleek, simple hairdo and gorgeous makeup let the dress speak for itself.

WORST: Sola Bamis definitely turned heads in an ill-fitting sunny yellow gown with a massive, wing-like bow.

BEST: Julianna Margulies was a total stunner in a white column dress with an intricate beaded details.

WORST: That's a lot of look! Actress Melora Hardin's printed minidress with a massive floor-length train could definitely have done without that tail-like foor-length train.

BEST: Red is definitely Anna Faris' color! The blonde beauty was a total stunner in this elegant red gown.

"I mainly did it for myself," Winter told us about the life-changing decision at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party in Beverly Hills, California. "Yes, I had many comments, and it bothered me that that was kind of what I was known for. And that was kind of what people were commenting on my photos. That bothered me, but it wasn't the main reason I did it."

"There's so much in the media [telling people] you have to look a certain way," she continued. "People feel so pressured that if they don't look this way they're not going to be beautiful."
