Neighbors outraged after woman leaves dog outside during blizzard
SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 14-year-old dog left crying in a Brooklyn backyard during a blizzard has a new lease on life after being surrendered to a Long Island rescue.
Police were notified of the alleged animal cruelty when a video began circulating Facebook of a dog crying in a little wooden shed in Crown Heights during last month's historic blizzard.

Neighbors said the homeowner, June Hercules, left her two elderly dogs in the backyard as nearly three feet of snow blanketed the tri-state area.
Hercules was issued a summons with a future court date. She also reached out to the Guardians of Rescue to surrender Prince, a 14-year-old lab mix.
According to a Facebook post from the Smithtown-based rescue, Prince did not get along with the other dog in the home. The dogs would be left outside at different times. The other dog, a pit bull, is believed to still be living in the Brooklyn home.
The rescue says Prince has advanced cataracts as well as arthritis.
Those interested in donating to Prince's care can visit the Guardians of Rescue website.
