After someone threatened to attack Donald Trump with a tomato at an Iowa rally on Monday, the GOP presidential frontrunner told the crowd to be on the lookout for protesters who might be armed with the red veggie.

"So I got a little notice in case you see the security guys," Trump said. "We have wonderful security guys. They said, 'Mr. Trump, there may be somebody with tomatoes in the audience.'"

And to show that he means business, the real estate mogul even offered to pay any future legal bills to anyone who would stop the tomato-throwing intruder.

"So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously," he said. "OK, just knock the hell — I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise. They won't be so much because the courts agree with us, too."

When a heckler later interrupted The Donald's speech, the presidential frontrunner threw him out, but not before asking him if he had a tomato on him.

It seems tomatoes are the fruit/veggie du jour at Trump campaigns these days.

Andrew Joseph Alemao, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct last week after throwing tomatoes at the business mogul at a campaign event in Iowa.
