The Edmonton Oilers have dearly missed their first overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft Connor McDavid while McDavid has been rehabbing from a broken clavicle back in November. The Oilers have since slumped he was injured against the Philadelphia Flyers. Exiting the All-Star break, they are currently tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs for the worst record in the NHL with 43 points. The Oilers will be getting McDavid back on Tuesday.

The Oilers play the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night in Edmonton. Getting Connor McDavid back should help boost the morale of the team and the fans. McDavid is a special talent who could be the guy who takes Edmonton to the next level. Through his first 13 NHL games, McDavid has five goals and seven assists for 12 points. He was loaned to the AHL over the All-Star break.

The Oilers are currently trying to avoid winning the lottery yet again. They might only have 43 points, but they are only eight points out of a playoff birth. If they can get McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins back healthy, they could go on a run much like the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames did last season.
