Camera flash reveals tumor in infant's eye
There's nothing like a new baby to turn parents into obsessive shutterbugs, but for one family the constant photo taking may end up being what saves a 4-month-old boy's life.
When looking at the many pictures, mother Andrea Temarantz noticed a recurring white glow in her son Ryder's left eye.
She mentioned the anomaly during a visit to the doctor and a day later learned the cause of the glowing spot was a tumor.
They were presented with two primary options – chemotherapy or removing the eye completely.
Treatment was ultimately chosen as it will likely best prevent the cancer from spreading.
A family member has set up a campaign on FundRazr to help the parents cover the cost of the needed medical attention.
