David Bowie created a legacy of 26 studio albums and golden years of memories, but there could be more to come. The legendary British artist has reportedly left a treasure trove of new music that will be released in stages from next year.

Newsweek quotes an unnamed source "close to" the late artist who claims there's "a long list of unscheduled musical releases that Bowie planned before he died."

Bowie died Jan. 10 at the age of 69. His final release, Blackstar, dropped just two days earlier, on Bowie's birthday. Tony Visconti, the producer of Blackstar and many of Bowie's classic albums dating back to the late '60s, recently told reporters the Hall of Famer was working on a follow-up album prior to his death. Bowie had even written and demoed five new songs.

How David Bowie's Death Was Covered by Newspapers Around the World

Millions of Bowie fans around the world continue to celebrate the musician's outstanding career by pouring over his catalog...;and most recent works. Blackstar debuted at the summit of sales charts in the U.S., giving Bowie his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In his homeland, Bowie's music has swamped the singles and albums charts, and the new set is into its second week at No. 1. Blackstar also topped the chart in Australia, where Bowie this week established a new all-time record for entries in the top 100 (18), eclipsing the record he set last week (17).

The singer also set a new record on Vevo when, on Jan. 11, his music videos drew 51 million views (beating Adele's one-day mark of 36 million).

A cast album for Bowie's off-Broadway play Lazarus is also in production. The musical, which featured 18 of the artist's biggest hits, closed on Jan. 20 after its two-month run at the New York Theatre Workshop.
