Dog finishes seventh in accidental half marathon run
Half marathons usually require training, but a dog in Alabama was able to handle the distance with relative ease.
A two-and-a-half-year-old hound named Ludivine accidentally joined Elkmont's first Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon after wandering away from a backyard bathroom break.
She reportedly ran it with the other participants and completed the 13.1-mile course in just over an hour and a half.
In fact, her impressive time put her in seventh place among 165 human finishers.

The dog's owner, April Hamlin, didn't even realize the escape had happened until she began receiving texts from friends who were race volunteers.
Hamlin told Runner's World, "My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners."
The hound received her own medal for the achievement.
