Celine Dion was overcome with emotion on Thursday night as she attended her husband, Rene Angelil's wake at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.

The "If You Ask Me To" singer stood by Rene's casket for hours as she hugged friends and family members who attended the wake and she was supported by her 14-year-old son, Rene-Charles.

Rene-Charles was seen escorting his mother out of the cathedral after the services ended alongside another man close to the family. Rene-Charles wore a dark suit and his mother, Celine, 47, wore a black fur coat and a customary black veil over her face.

Thousands of fans gathered outside of the cathedral in order to pay their respects to the legendary Canadian singer and manager, who helped Celine achieve stardom in the United States. Angelil passed away on Jan. 14 from throat cancer after a long battle with several cancers. He died two days shy of his 74th birthday.

Rene's funeral is schedule for 3 p.m. EST on Friday.
