Crocodiles in Florida have made an astounding population comeback over the past years.

However, just as their numbers have increased, so have their encounters with humans.

A family living in the Florida Keys near Islamorada awoke on Thursday morning to find one of the large reptiles in their swimming pool.

Authorities were notified, and upon arriving, they were able to get the about 8-foot-long crocodile back to its natural habitat.

Noted an officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, "We have crocodiles in the Upper Keys because it's a fun habitat for them. This croc showing up in the pool, how can you beat that?"

No injuries or unfortunate happenings were reported in connection with the crocodile's recreational outing to the neighborhood.
