Hiker finds bones, car of California woman missing since 2012
Investigators searching for Megan Sue Dipiazza, a La Crescenta, California woman who has been missing since November 11, 2012, got a big break over the weekend.
While hiking on a trail in the Angeles National Forest on Sunday, a man found Dipiazza's ID card and car in a ravine.
A police search of the vehicle turned up the woman's credit cards and a photo of her family. They also found a number of human bones.
Authorities also noted the car's key was in the ignition and the seatbelt was not fastened, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The bones have not yet been confirmed as belonging to Dipiazza, but, according to authorities, they will be tested against a DNA sample.
Her parents remain hopeful their daughter is still alive.
