It's been plastered all over the magazines, blogs, and news articles: Athleisure, what is it – and is this a trend to slay or skip?
By definition (truely, Merriam-Webster will add the word officially in 2016) the term means: "Athleisure refers to casual clothing — like yoga pants, sweat pants, and hoodies — that are designed to be worn both for exercising and for doing (almost) everything else." Flashback about 10 years, when wearing a velour tracksuit was actually in style [thank you Juicy Couture!], remember that? Well, it's kinda like that – only better. Athleisure is a term for active wear that can double as basic casual clothing. Girls have been doing it for years, except now, brands arefinally picking up on the fact that we love our yoga leggings and profusely refuse to wear anything else on the weekends. So they have decided to make them a.) cute & b.) sustainable. Some of my favorite brands are Zella, Lululemon, and Ban.do. As for my favorite styles right now? It has to be open back tops (I mean, what's the point of a cute sports bra if you can't show it?) and mesh insert leggings! I'd wear it everyday if I could!
