Robin Wright's ruthless, driven, critical Claire Underwood on 'House of Cards' is the first lady of political nightmares. In real life, Wright is understated and self-possessed, a gifted, personable actress who mostly keeps herself to herself.

Which is why we love the fact that Wright, who personifies simple, easy elegance in public, has launched a line of lingerie, Pour Les Femmes, with her longtime friend, designer Karen Fowler.

"A portion of the profits go towards charitable organizations that directly help women in conflict areas so not only are you giving the gift to your loved ones, but to women around the world," says Wright.

We asked Wright to share some of her sartorial and style selections for the new year.

Tocca Candles: "I love the clean classic look of these candles, they fit with any home décor. Each scent has beautiful floral undertones and there's not one in this collection that wouldn't make for the perfect gift for that stylish friend in your life."

Mara Carrizo Scalise mini horn necklace: "I love delicate jewelry and this necklace combines a masculine design with fine feminine details."

J. Crew Cotton Cashmere sweater, men's: "You can never go wrong with the gift of cashmere! And for under $70? This is a steal. You can buy one for your father, brother, husband, every special man in your life and not break the bank."

Uniqlo jacket: "I love a good lightly stuffed down jacket. I wear this same jacket as my warm-up coat on 'House of Cards'. It's not easy to still be stylish and warm at the same time."

Pour Les Femmes cotton floral robe: "Another brand new piece from our Pour Les Femmes collection. It's light weight enough to put right on after the shower and I love the faint floral design which is a beautiful feminine touch."

Faliero Sarti scarf: "This is one of my favorite Italian designers for accessories. They are known for adding unique details, such as the contrast boarders and slight frayed edges on this scarf, which adds a little "cool". It's a cashmere blend so completely functional. If you're a scarf junky like me then this is the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe."
