Grab This Incredibly Healthy Snack Next Time You're Hungry at Work

So, you're hungry at work and it's not quite lunchtime. You could reach for the potato chips in the vending machine to hold you over. Or you could head for a healthier (and arguably tastier) option: walnuts.

Walnuts are extremely rich in polyphenols, important chemicals that help your body ward off diseases like cancer, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease and more. They're also packed with plenty of protein and fiber.

Researchers say half an ounce of walnuts a day, roughly six to seven whole walnuts, could help improve your memory concentration and information processing speed. (Video via Optima Walnut Processing)

Dr. Lenore Arab, a professor of medicine and disease prevention at UCLA, says, "It isn't every day that research results in such simple advice — eating a handful of walnuts daily as a snack, or as part of a meal, can help improve your cognitive health."

A tasty snack and a work performance enhancer? Sounds like a win-win.
