LG announces new lineup of super-UHD televisions
If you love watching your favorite football team storm the end zone, get ready to feel like you are watching from the front row.
It's only been a few years since the introduction of 4K, which donned four times the resolution of regular high definition screens. Now, LG is pushing even further with its new line of "Super-UHD" Televisions.
The new line of LCD TVs will feature three models that come in several screen sizes, along with one, gigantic 96-inch giant.
The "super" features each television will sport include LG's Color Prime tech, which enhances color brightness, and the ability to process and display High Dynamic Range (HDR) content. All three smaller models range in size from 49 to 86 inches and will support 4K content, which is currently available from some online content providers, such as Amazon & Netflix. The 96-inch model will have the ability to handle 8K content, but it's not clear where that content would come from.
The company is expected to announce a new lineup of OLED televisions at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this coming week, along with the prices of the new televisions.
