On his voice acting for the role, Shelton told EW, "They kept saying, 'More country!' I felt like I was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard."

In addition to lending his voice, Shelton has written a song for the movie. "I can write things about myself and my life, but I don't have a whole lot of experience being shot out of a slingshot at pigs."

The animated film based on the addictive video game app also features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, and Bill Hader, among others.

The Angry Birds Movie will appear in theaters on May 20. Watch the trailer below.
