The Kobe Bryant Retirement Tour will be rolling along Monday night, and this time it will be stopping in a place with a little bit of significance. On Monday night the Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Charlotte Hornets, meaning this will be the last time Kobe returns to the home of the team that originally drafted him.

Yes, look it up, kids. The Hornets originally drafted Bryant.

Anyway, of course the Hornets were going to honor Bryant prior to the game getting underway, which meant that a special message was going to come from someone. Indeed, Michael Jordan offered up a message to Bryant before the game gets underway.


That right there is just greatness recognizing greatness, and this was a pretty cool gesture by Jordan to send his thoughts to Bryant as he makes his way through the final season of his illustrious career.

Throughout that career, there were many people who compared Bryant and the way he played the game to Jordan, and in some cases, rightfully so.

Bryant will never return to the Hornets to play another basketball game, but he'll always have this memory to take along with him through life.
