Not even the most passionate of mistletoe smooches this season will beat the 201 simultaneous kisses that set a world record last weekend.

To set the Guinness World Record for the most couples kissing at once under the mistletoe, Six Flags over Georgia invited people to lock lips at the appropriately named "Mistletoe Mansion."

"The record was successful with 201 couples kissing under the mistletoe," Guinness World Records Adjudicator Tavia Levy announced in video of the event.

"What better way to celebrate than breaking a world record for couples kissing and enjoying the holidays?" Park President Dale Kaetzel said.

While there was no previous world record registered, 156 couples were needed to set the record, Six Flags over Georgia stated in a press release.

To fulfill requirements, each couple was required to hold their own mistletoe as they shared a 10-second kiss.

"Everyone was so happy to participate in the record," Levy said. "It's a memory that will last a lifetime."

An attempt at the world record was also carried out in London last year, where physicists from the University of London tried to harness the energy of 1,000 kisses to light the Christmas displays of a local market.
